Kids Love Shakespeare!

This is a difficult question to answer because not every child of a certain age is alike. I have personally used both Much Ado About Nothing and A Midsummer Night’s Dream with my own 7-9 year old students, but my group was an average to highly capable group. I know several middle school teachers (with 11-14 year old students) who have enjoyed using the same scripts. Generally, A Midsummer Night’s Dream and Much Ado About Nothing are written for 8-12 year-olds. Twelfth Night, Tempest and Romeo & Juliet are written for slightly older students: about 10-15 year olds. This is primarely due to the fact that these more recent adaptations contain more original lanugage.

All scripts are intended for SINGLE CLASSROOM USE and you may copy the STUDENT SCRIPT for the students in your classroom. If you are interested in purchasing scripts for other teachers on your team or at your school, please inquire about our significant discount. Unlike many publishers, we do NOT require you to buy a performance license if you are NOT charging admission to your production. We know that royalty fees (sometimes as much a $60 a performance) are simply not affordable for the average teacher and often limit students to one performance. We don’t want to hold you or your students back! If you are planning on charging admission to your production, we ask that you pay a small fee ($20) per performance. The bound teacher’s copy includes the Director’s Support with information to help with casting and production (click here to see a table of contents). The script kit also includes our educational CD “Soul Cake” and unlimited not-for-profit performance permissions. Upon purchase, you will ALSO receive an email with the .PDF attachment of the student copy so you may get to work ASAP! Upon completion of your purchase, you will receive an automatically generated e-mail with a link to your script download. $45.00 DIRECTOR'S SUPPORT (PDF DOWNLOAD) is available to purchase digitally for most of our adaptations. Check for availablity in the "product type" section of each adaptation. $10.00 CUSTOMIZED FOR YOUR CLASSROOM allows you to work directly with the author in tailoring the adaptation to the personal demands of your class or group. Your personalized adaptation will be ready within approximately two weeks, depending on current demand. When finished, your adaptation will be emailed as a reproducible .PDF and will include our director’s supplement (edited to fit your customization) as well as unlimited not-for-profit performance permission. We do accept purchase orders. Please email us if your district or school requires you to purchase our materials via purchase order number. We are happy to work with you on this!

This depends on what you order and your method of payment. If you order an electronic copy and pay via Paypal, links to download will automatically be made available to you on this site. They will also be emailed to you within minutes of your payment being processed. If you choose “Check” everything will depend on how quickly you send your payment. If you order a Script Kit, your order will be shipped via USPS Priority Mail the business day following the receipt of your payment. Shipping domestically, USPS Priority Mail takes about 3-4 business days. Internationally, it will take about 7-10 business days.
